Cases are typically billed on an hourly basis. Some matters, especially ones in which all parties are in agreement, may qualify for a flat fee. Personal injury cases are always paid on a contingency basis. Billing includes costs for copying, filing, process servers, and out-of-pocket costs. Retainers and flat fee cases must be paid up front.
